Now that I have a functioning website and email newsletter, I feel like I should be a bit more diligent about sending advance notice of art show appearances. How far in advance? Oh I don’t know, maybe more than 16 hours before the event starts? But this is when it worked out to write this, so … here we are!
The headline: Goshen First Fridays, May 1, 2026, 5-9 PM! I’ll have my tent and table set up on the north side of the courthouse lawn alongside the other vendors! (Number 5 on the map.)
In all seriousness, I’m really excited about this event. Growing up in Goshen, I’ve been to my fair share of First Fridays over the years, so it’ll be a real kick to cart my paintings out there and hang out among the downtown hustle and bustle. I cooked up a few on-location originals over the past few days, and then painted a few pieces from a couple months ago that I hadn’t finished. (It’s amazing what you find when you finally clean the art room!)

I was about to write some more about how great it’s been to start painting on-location again, or how I’m going to try to create three new floral print designs before the show starts (gulp), but I’m realizing that the waxing poetic should probably wait until after the event is over. I’d love to see you there!
Talk soon,
M.Z. Gillin
