As I welcome you into my hopefully long-term internet art space, I have to confess that I’m new here too. My to-do list has had “update website” sitting on it for a very long time, but it was one of those tasks that never seemed urgent enough to rise to the top. But I wanted these charity prints to have some kind of stable home outside of a PayPal link, so here we are!

Speaking of charity prints, I’m so grateful for all the support on this project thus far. It’s really encouraging to hear from so many people who want to support these great organizations (more info here).

I’m not sure what will become of this website. Sometimes I’ve wished for a space to write a little more about a piece than what can reasonably fit in an Instagram caption. Sometimes I’ve wanted to write out some thoughts and musings about art, painting, urban sketching, hopes, failure, life … I guess a blog is the right space to explore that. And really, it just feels really refreshing to have an online space for direct connection with others, free from the constant barrage of ads, suggested posts, “news” articles, mercurial social media algorithm gods … I think I like it here.

So, at the bare minimum, this blog (and its accompanying email updates) will serve as a space to announce new projects, prints, and/or art show appearances. And at some point maybe we’ll dive a little deeper and talk through some process stuff. And all this without needing to steel my nerves for a trip into the social media feeds! What a concept!
